Cagliari

Cagliari's dedicated Molo Rinascita cruise terminal has three berths totalling 1,040m, supports transit and turnaround calls, and publishes a terminal-wide maximum ship envelope of 400m LOA and 9.5m draught.

Dock

Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, is a major western Mediterranean cruise port with a dedicated passenger facility at Molo Rinascita. The terminal supports both transit calls and full turnaround operations and is located close to the city centre.

Molo Rinascita cruise terminal

Official Cagliari Cruise Port information identifies three cruise berths: Rinascita Ponente (West), Rinascita Levante (East) and Rinascita Testata (South). Together they provide approximately 1,040 metres of berthing line.

The current terminal page publishes the West Quay at 476m, the East Quay at 449m and the South Quay at 115m. West and East each have a published maximum vessel LOA of 339m. All three display an 11m berth draught/depth figure.

Maximum ship dimensions

Separately, Cagliari Cruise Port publishes a terminal-wide maximum ship limitation of 400m length, no width restriction and 9.5m draught. Deck7 deliberately keeps that operational ship-draught figure separate from the 11m berth-depth figures rather than assuming that water depth automatically equals permissible vessel draught.

Anchorage, tenders and tugs

The terminal confirms that anchorage is available, ship tenders are allowed and tugs are available. Published tidal movement is approximately ±40cm.

Alternative cruise berths

The Sardinia Sea Port Authority's cruise-berthing regulation reserves Rinascita Levante, Ponente and Testata preferentially for cruise vessels. During congestion or simultaneous calls, ships may exceptionally be assigned to Molo Sabaudo or Molo Ichnusa where dimensions, draught and security requirements permit.

Shore power

Cagliari is part of the Sardinia Sea Port Authority's major cold-ironing programme covering the historic port and Porto Canale. Planning documents provide for cruise shore-power infrastructure at Molo Rinascita, including two connection points intended to allow two cruise ships to be supplied simultaneously and equipment capable of 11kV operation.

In July 2026, the Port Authority said work across its cold-ironing programme was expected to conclude a year ahead of the Ministry's revised deadline of 31 December 2027. Because routine commercial cruise OPS at Molo Rinascita has not yet been explicitly confirmed, Deck7 records shore power conservatively as planned.

Getting into Cagliari

The cruise terminal publishes the city centre at approximately 800m, the railway station at around 500m and Cagliari Elmas Airport at approximately 6km. A free shuttle takes cruise passengers to the port gate, while taxis, local transport and excursion coaches are also available.

Docking and tender information

Official Cagliari Cruise Port data gives West Quay at 476m total berthing, East Quay at 449m and South Quay at 115m, all with an 11m published quay-depth/draught figure. West and East each publish a 339m maximum vessel LOA. Separately, the terminal publishes a maximum ship limitation for berthing of 400m length, no width restriction and 9.5m draught. Deck7 retains both sets of official figures: berth-specific 339m limits for West/East and the terminal's broader 400m/9.5m published maximum.

Getting around

A free shuttle operates to the port gate. The city centre is approximately 800m away, the railway station approximately 500m and Cagliari Elmas Airport approximately 6km from the cruise terminal. Taxis, local buses and excursion coaches are also available.
