Disney Cruise Line will return to New York in autumn 2027, ending a four-year absence from the city with a limited series of voyages aboard Disney Wish.

The 144,000gt ship will arrive in late September following its inaugural European season and operate seven cruises of between four and seven nights. The programme combines warm-weather escapes to Bermuda with autumn voyages along the New England and Atlantic Canada coast.

It will be the first time Disney Wish has sailed from New York. Disney Cruise Line last operated a passenger season from the city in 2023, while its New England and Canada programme will return for the first time in nearly four years.

Seven special cruises from New York

The season is scheduled to begin on 29 September 2027 with a four-night round-trip cruise to King’s Wharf, Bermuda. The ship will remain in Bermuda for two days before returning to New York on 3 October.

A five-night New England and Canada itinerary will follow, calling at Saint John in New Brunswick and Boston. On 8 October, Disney Wish will begin a six-night sailing combining King’s Wharf with Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Two five-night Bermuda cruises depart on 14 and 19 October, each including an extended two-day visit at King’s Wharf. Disney says five of the seven New York voyages will visit Bermuda, with three providing passengers with an additional day to explore the island.

The longest round-trip itinerary departs on 24 October for seven nights. It will visit Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island, Sydney in Nova Scotia and Halifax before returning to New York on 31 October.

The final departure is a five-night one-way voyage from New York to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Sailing on 31 October, it includes two days at King’s Wharf and ends in San Juan on 5 November, positioning the ship for the next stage of its deployment.

Autumn colours and pink-sand beaches

The compact season gives Disney two notably different products from the same homeport. Bermuda offers beaches and a milder climate, while the Canada and New England departures are timed for the autumn foliage period.

Disney Cruise Line says the northern sailings will give families an opportunity to experience the colours of the season along the Atlantic coast. Ports in the programme range from Boston’s historic waterfront to Halifax, Saint John, Charlottetown and Sydney.

New York also gives the line access to one of the world’s largest tourism markets without requiring passengers from the north-eastern United States to fly to Florida. The seven-voyage season is limited, but it restores a popular Disney departure port and introduces one of the company’s newest ships to the region.

Disney Wish arrives after first European season

Disney Wish entered service in 2022 and has spent most of its career operating short cruises from Port Canaveral. Its 2027 programme represents a substantial change, taking the ship to Europe for the first time before it crosses the Atlantic to New York.

The ship is scheduled to leave Southampton on 17 September 2027 for a 12-night westbound transatlantic voyage. Calls are planned at Greenock in Scotland, Reykjavik in Iceland and St John’s in Newfoundland before it reaches New York on 29 September.

After completing its New York and San Juan programme, Disney Wish will return to Port Canaveral for three- and four-night Bahamian cruises. Those sailings will include Disney’s island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Bookings open in September

Early reservations for the newly announced autumn 2027 and spring 2028 itineraries will open to selected Castaway Club members from 31 August 2026. General bookings are scheduled to begin on 8 September 2026.

The New York announcement forms part of a wider Disney deployment release. It also includes the first Port Canaveral season for Disney Destiny, additional cruises from San Juan, two Panama Canal voyages aboard Disney Magic, and continued operations from California, Texas, Florida and Singapore.

For New York, however, the headline is simple: Disney Cruise Line is coming back. The return may last only seven sailings, but it combines a major homeport, a first visit by Disney Wish and an unusually varied collection of Bermuda and autumn Atlantic itineraries.
